  8. In case of symptoms (decreased vision compared to the previous days – pain in and around the eyes that is not relieved with the prescribed painkillers – increased redness, swelling and discharge of the eyes – sudden onset of pain above the eyeball “eyebrow area” and persistent headache – See the colored halo around the lights) Call or see your doctor.
  9. If you feel a foreign body in the eye (which may be due to loosening or opening of the suture, and if the suture is not removed, the possibility of rejection of the transplant increases.) ,you should see your doctor.
  10. You will be discharged a few hours after the surgery. When you are discharged, prepare your prescription and use eye drops as you are instructed. Bring your medications with you to the next visit.
  11. After the surgery, sleep on your back and avoid sleeping towards the operated eye or towards the abdomen.

  16. Allow at least 5 to 10 minutes between two drops.
  17. When sleeping; put a shield on the eye and stick it with hypoallergenic tape.

18- The shield should be on your eyes while sleeping for 3 to 4 weeks after the surgery.

Use sunglasses during the day so that your eyes are less irritated because the operated eye is sensitive to sunlight.

  1. Postoperative pain can be reduced by taking acetaminophen. Tell your doctor if the pain does not go away as it may be due to increased intraocular pressure.
  2. In case of sudden loss of vision, your doctor must be informed immediately.
  3. You should go to the doctor’s office for an examination the day after surgery and until complete recovery, you need to be examined several times.
  4. Your vision is not complete immediately after the operation, but it will gradually improve, and after a few months, if necessary, a spectacle number will be prescribed for precise work.
  5. An eye that has undergone corneal transplantation is exposed to problems such as cataracts and especially glaucoma for the rest of its life, which may be asymptomatic and can only be diagnosed by an eye examination by a specialist. Therefore, corneal transplant patients should be examined regularly by the relevant ophthalmologist.
